Summertime

Standard

I’ve been subbing at several local elementary schools and since testing is over, it seems everyone is writing about summer.

Our last day of school isn’t until June 18 which is a crime against nature.  On Friday I cranked  some Jack Johnson which properly inspired some 3rd graders to brainstorm about what their senses experience in summer.

See:  bare feet, the view from the diving board, fireworks

Hear:  ice cream truck, buzzing, music, sizzling

Taste:  watermelon, salt water

Feel:   grass, hot sand, sweat, waves

Smell:  sunscreen, burgers, wet dogs

What would you add to the list?
